Load Assist & Air Control Options
Boss Air Suspension Sunshine Coast
Boss load-assist airbags provide adjustable rear support for selected utes, American trucks and commercial vans. Add manual inflation for simple operation, an in-cab controller for on-the-fly adjustment, or an onboard-air package where airbag control and tyre inflation are both required.
The Ute Shop can identify a vehicle-specific Boss kit and match it with the appropriate air-control package, with professional fitting available at our Warana workshop on the Sunshine Coast.

Boss Load-Assist Airbag Kits
Boss vehicle-specific load-assist airbag kit with brackets and hardware
Boss load-assist kits mount heavy-duty double-convoluted air springs between the chassis and rear axle. They work with the factory leaf springs to eliminate rear sag when carrying tools, toolboxes, trade gear, service bodies, or towing heavy caravans and work trailers.
- Heavy-duty laser-cut steel brackets engineered for Australian conditions
- Reinforced multi-ply rubber airbags with extreme burst ratings
- Helps maintain proper headlight angle, steering traction, and braking balance
- Protects springs from premature flattening under persistent heavy loads
In-Cab Airbag Controls
Boss heavy-duty dual-bellow air spring component
In-cab control kits allow you to adjust airbag pressures directly from the driver's seat using pneumatic paddle switches or digital electric valves. Dual gauges display left and right bag pressures independently, letting you compensate for uneven drawer, fridge, or water tank weights.
Onboard Air & Tyre Inflation Systems
A Boss 12-volt compressor package paired with a 2-gallon or 3-gallon aluminium or steel air tank turns your ute into a fully self-sufficient mobile air station. Run airbag pressure adjustments, air horns, air lockers, and rapid 4WD tyre re-inflation after a beach or trail session.
Never run airbags completely empty. A minimum operating pressure (typically 5 to 10 psi) must be maintained at all times to prevent the bags from pinching or chafing inside suspension coils or against chassis components.
Professional Installation at The Ute Shop
Proper bracket alignment and torque verification prevent stress fractures and chassis damage. Our Warana technicians ensure all airlines are protected from road debris and heat, with pressure-leak testing completed before delivery.

Frequently asked questions
What makes Boss airbags different from other brands?
Boss utilizes heavy-duty reinforced rubber bellows with thick laser-cut brackets designed specifically for harsh Australian outback and trade conditions.
Can I adjust Boss airbags while driving?
Yes, if equipped with a Boss in-cab control kit or wireless digital controller, you can inflate or deflate the bags from inside the cabin.
Do Boss airbags increase my ute's towing capacity?
No. Airbags level the vehicle and improve braking and handling stability, but do not exceed the vehicle's factory towing capacity or legal GVM limits.
Can I use the onboard air compressor to pump up 4WD tyres?
Yes. When equipped with an onboard compressor and storage air tank, the system easily powers tyre inflation lines and air accessories.
Does The Ute Shop supply and fit Boss Air Suspension?
Yes. We supply and professionally install Boss load-assist kits, onboard compressors, tanks, and in-cab gauges at our Warana workshop.
